CSD Düsseldorf 2023

The International LGBTQIA+ Düsseldorf community came together once again to create an extraordinary space for queer individuals from all over the world, fostering love, acceptance, and celebration. Last 10th June, with the sun shining brightly, our lovely Dorf, served as the perfect backdrop for the annual CSD Pride Parade, where the LGBTQ+ individuals and allies converged on its streets, showcasing the strength and diversity of the global queer community.

This time, the parade was very special for us. Led by Thomas Krüger along with many passionate volunteers, we had organised for first all the following:

  •  A truck to increase the visibility of the group with banners with the Pride love & protest messages from our International members written in their own language.  Check some of them in this reel

  • The amazing music with the mixed top hits from our distinctive DJ Felicia kept us dancing all the way during the 4 hours duration of the parade.
  • A Flash Mob dance performance by our “famous” Düsselcats was highly celebrated and many of the spectators joined us.  Did you miss it?  See yourself in this reel

  • Branded new T-shirts and bags with the logo of our group.  Do you also want one? No problem! You can still buy them here.

The streets of Düsseldorf were transformed into a riot of colors, as floats, marchers, and attendees showcased their creativity through costumes, flags, and banners. The parade featured a diverse range of LGBTQ+ groups, organizations, and allies, each bringing their unique flavor to the festivities. From drag queens and kings to community organizations, corporate sponsors, and local government representatives, the parade truly embodied the spirit of inclusivity – with us putting our unique stamp on it as well.

All that described above wouldn’t have been possible without the time and drive from our members that volunteer.  But we also had to spend some money in advance that we hope to recover.  Here a brief summary of main expenses for CSD Düsseldorf and CSD Cologne summing up to a total of 2050€.

  • Music system: 550€
  • Renting trucks: 400€
  • Banners: 100€
  • Fees for CSD: 400€
  • Material and T-Shirts: 600€
